While watching the local news today, I learned that Presidential Candidate, Senator Manny Villar, is up in the latest Survey Ratings. Well, it wasn’t a bit surprising because Senator Manny Villar is practically burning millions of pesos in his campaign. How? Just watch television and you’ll find out and it doesn’t matter which channel or network it is too.

Everyday his political/campaign advertisements are shown in every channel, in every network and in every corner of the country and it’s not just one ad, it’s a variety of ads.  Ads with street children and poor people, ads with songs and ads with celebrities like Michael V (Bitoy) and Dolphy. In fact, he has the most campaign ads aired everyday amongst all the Presidential Candidates and if you are a television watcher then I’m certain that you have seen his ads not once but many times a day. The video below shows the inmates from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security prison here in the Philippines, dancing to Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us”. Ironic isn’t it that they should be dancing to that song. I’m pretty sure that many people, specially their friends and family, still do care about them.

My first time watching Showtime was during the Christmas break last December 2009. I must admit that it was a very entertaining show and its high ratings can attest to that. In fact, SiS got cancelled because of Showtime.

I wasn’t doing anything this morning so I decided to watch some television but I didn’t find anything good to watch on my favorite channels so I decided to channel surf. While going through the channels one by one, a familiar face appeared on one of the channels. The face belonged to Bret Hart and the show was a replay of last monday night’s RAW. I do watch professional wrestling but I haven’t really followed it that much this past few months so I’m kinda out of the loop in what’s happening in the professional wrestling world.

Watching Bret Hart in the middle of a WWE ring is a surprise for me. Wrestling fans know that Bret Hart’s relationship with WWE ended sourly because of what happened in Bret Hart’s match with Shawn Michaels in his last Survivor Series in Montreal. I don’t really know what actually happened at the end of that match but that particular event is now known as the Montreal Screwjob in pro wrestling history. My wife loves watching Korean Dramas on local TV and, since we only have one television, I am forced to watch them with her. I don’t like many of them but the ones I like most are Jumong, The Legend, Jewel in the Palace and Song of the Prince.

Currently, Song of the Prince is aired everyday at 3:00pm on QTV 11, a local channel here in the Philippines. It is a story of a Young Prince who didn’t know he was a prince and was raised as a commoner. He fell in-love with Princess whom later became his Queen.
